Cash: There are no banks or ATMs, only Caja Vecina and Banco Estado, therefore it is essential to travel with cash.
Medication: There is only one pharmacy on the island and only one Rural Health Hospital with basic services in case of an emergency, so it is recommended you bring all necessary medication for the entire trip.

Telephone: Mobile phone coverage in Robinson Crusoe is only available through national companies Entel and Movistar.
Internet: in Robinson Crusoe there is satellite internet coverage, which is occasionally affected by weather conditions.
Round trip: Consider the flexibility of one week after departure or return date, since the weather conditions on the island can delay your flight.
Lobster consumption: During the lobster prohibition season, between June and September, fishing and fresh consumption are prohibited. During this period some restaurants offer frozen lobster, which is allowed. Do not accept fresh lobster during the prohibition season, as it could result in a fine.
Climate: The Juan Fernández Archipelago has a warm temperate climate with rainfall concentrated mainly between the months of April and October. During the winter months, the average temperature is 7.3°C and in the summer the average temperature is 18.7°C.
